United Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner now operating on all Australian routes

United Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner arrived this weekend at Sydney International Airport, signalling the start of services to San Francisco and Los Angeles for the much talked about aircraft. The Dreamliners exclusively replace the Boeing 777-200s for all trans-pacific services from Sydney.

“We’re excited that Australia has become United’s first country with multiple daily operations with Dreamliner only,” said Julie Reid, United’s director of Sales for Australia and New Zealand.

“This year also marks United’s 30th anniversary of serving Australia, and the introduction of the 787 on all of our Australian routes highlights our continued commitment to and investment in this important market.”

United have been operating daily non-stop services between Sydney to Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as daily non-stop services between Melbourne and Los Angeles, since 1986. The Dreamliner has been operating between Melbourne and Los Angeles since 2014.

Onboard, United economy customers can expect to “dream away the nightmares of cramped necks, sore legs and squinting eyes” with the Boeing 787’s premium onboard flying experience. The Dreamliners offer lower emissions and cabin altitude, enhanced ventilation systems, modern engines and an improved aerodynamic design that optimises efficiency, speed and distance.

And for those who must stay connected to the World Wide Web (aka Facebook), satellite-based WI-FI is installed on all 27 United B787-9 aircrafts currently in their fleet.
