Shangri-La to open massive luxury hotel in Manama as part of Bahrain Marina

Several waterfront villas and a luxury hotel are being planned for Manama, the capital city of Bahrain. The property, to be managed by the iconic Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, will form part of the immense 310,00 sqm Bahrain Marina development, which is a landmark waterfront development for the city that will include not only the five-star property and villas but also freehold apartments, a fully-integrated family entertainment centre, cinema complex, boardwalk, marina, yacht club, and a recreational waterfront space with dining and retail options.

Stretched across the city’s pristine coastline, the new hub will be revealed by 2020 with the 250-room luxury hotel being a large part of that. Although, Shangri-La Hotel, Bahrain won’t be open until 2022, buzz has already begun based off the exciting range of 150 one-to-three bedroom suites, eight beach chalets, and 21 waterfront villas. The hotel will also feature extensive recreational and meeting facilities, including five restaurants, a rooftop lounge, private beach, two outdoor pools, health club and spa, kid’s club, and an epic 1,038 sqm ballroom.

“Bahrain is a strategically important destination for Shangri-La and we are delighted to partner in this opportunity with the Bahrain Marina Development Company”, offered Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited President and COO Oliver Bonke. “Bringing the iconic Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts brand to Bahrain in the landmark Bahrain Marina will strengthen the destination as well as further enhance brand recognition in the region”.

Shangri-La Hotel, Bahrain will open in 2022.
