NYC Restaurant Week announces 2018 program, opens for reservations

The most exciting time for foodies to visit New York City is once again upon us; the 26th annual NYC Restaurant Week is set to make a huge return, stretching from 23rd July to 17th August with the admirable aim of making 380 of the city’s greatest restaurants, of all ranges, a platform for culinary exploration and discovery. With reservations at all participating restaurants now open via NYCgo.com, guests and visitors have a huge task ahead of them as they work through prix-fixe lunch menus, indulge in specials, and explore set itineraries with the goal to show equal love to all five boroughs.

33 individual cuisines will be represented across all 380 restaurants, split through 42 distinct neighbourhoods. This year 24 new restaurants have come on board the program, including some of the city’s newest favourites as well as classics, ranging from Baar Baar, Cleo and Greenwich Steakhouse, to Scampi NYC, The Musket Room, and Trattoria Italienne.

“There is no better way to celebrate the diversity of New York City’s unmatched culinary scene – the true dining capital of the world – than by experiencing a great meal (or two) among restaurants of 33 distinct cuisines participating in NYC Restaurant Week this summer”, said Fred Dixon. “We look forward to welcoming visitors, meetings delegates, and residents to enjoy new dining experiences in neighbourhoods across all five boroughs this season”.

To make it all a little less daunting to work through, NYCgo.com have a list of curated restaurant collections themed to specific dining experiences (with millennial titles of course). These range from “NYC Classics” to “Squad Goals” (group dining) and “Swipe Right” (date ideas). Numerous other collections are set to roll out as the first week approaches. Be sure to check out the neighbourhood-specific itineraries and get familiar with the scenes of Grand Central, NoHo, SoHo and others.

Most popular will be the two-course prix-fixe lunches set for USD$26 and the three-course prix-fixe dinners for USD$42. These are consistently the most accessible ways to enjoy that restaurant you’re budget just hasn’t made allowances for yet.
