Norwegian Jewel kicks off Australian season in Sydney this month

Norwegian Cruise Line is just about ready to begin its inaugural Australian season from Sydney this month as Norwegian Jewel sails into Sydney Harbour on 12th November ahead of its first round-trip itinerary: a five-day “Taste of Tasmania” cruise. The season, which starts this month and ends in February 2018, will include nine sailings around iconic ports in both Australia and New Zealand, following which the massive luxury cruise ship will be heading to Singapore.

A total of seven Sydney round-trip itineraries are planned to roll out over the next few months. Highlights of the season include a nine-day voyage across regional gems like Eden, Kangaroo Island and Tasmania’s Burnie; and a series of ten to sixteen-day Australia and New Zealand trips taking in the likes of Milford Sound and Bay of Islands.

1,069 crew fit on board the Norwegian Jewel, a sizable number that’s not even half of the number of guests the ship can hold: 2,376. That impressive number is well catered too by the long list of amenities on board, including seven specialty dining venues, nine complimentary restaurants, and 15 bars and lounges – and that’s not even counting the premium poolside bar. This allows for a packed schedule of daily entertainment on board, including an Australian dance production called “Burn the Floor”, various outdoor activities, and pampering treatments at the Mandara Spa and Spa Thermal Suite.
