After its $250 million redevelopment was unveiled to locals and guests last month, The Hyatt Regency Sydney seems ready to roll out some of their most exciting features, the latest being the exclusive waterfront Regency Club Lounge overlooking Darling Harbour. What is Australia’s largest five-star hotel and size and scale (a takeover of the former Four Points Sheraton) now boasts a 150-seated executive lounge that wraps across the western side of the property’s 11th floor, promising those lucky enough to access it a world-class level of personalised service.
Any guest staying in a Regency Club Lounge room will be given access to the swish new venue, which features all one would expect: exclusive check-in and check out, complimentary continental breakfast, refreshments served all-day, evening canapés and, of course, beverages.
A nautical theme gives the lounge some character, local designed firm Bates Smart having drawn inspiration from the frequent luxury ocean liners that can be found visiting the harbour pretty much any day of the week. It’s this design that has filled the space with a series of “cabins” to mimic the hull of a ship and maintain that maritime glow, each flowing with inviting décor characterised by rich velvets, polished timber and sleek curves. Natural light illuminates many of these features thanks to full-length windows which open to lounge up and give it that quintessential Darling Harbour atmosphere.

The Darling Harbour property is Hyatt Regency’s third in Australia, and the first in Sydney since they sold their Kings Cross location.
