Alberta’s Eau Claire Distillery launches a Calgary Stampede-inspired cocktail list

To celebrate this year’s Calgary Stampede, which kicks off today (July 8th) in Calgary, Canada, Bar C Food & Drink is teaming up with Alberta’s first craft distillery – Eau Claire Distillery – to launch a Stampede-inspired cocktail list that will be sold exclusively during the 10-day celebration.

In addition to the new cocktail list, Bar C will be hosting spirit tastings with Eau Claire Distillery throughout the 10 days and afternoon BBQs on Saturday, July 9 and 16 from 12 to 3 p.m.

“We are incredibly excited to curate a cocktail list that features local craft spirits,” says Tristan Macdonald, Bar C Manager. “Utilizing a local brand highlights the community nature of food from production to dining in a restaurant – as Eau Claire notes, from seed to sip.”

For the spirit tastings, Eau Claire staff as well as the lead distiller will be on site to sample the spirits tableside for guests and to chat about the production of the spirits, the grains used and answer any questions about the spirits. The tastings aim to be an engaging experience for the guests while they sip and savour the new cocktail list.

“From sampling the spirits in their true form to then tasting them in the Bar C cocktail creations is more than good fun, it’s a chance to learn,” says Martin Gunson, Sales Manager, Eau Claire Distillery. “The spirit by itself shows the complexity of the flavours. How it melds with additional ingredients to form a well-balanced cocktail, is just as interesting. It’s an art and Bar C has it mastered.”
