Air Canada commences Dreamliner service between Brisbane and Vancouver

Canada’s national airline carrier, Air Canada, have just launched a brand new Australian service – connecting Brisbane in Queensland to Vancouver, Canada for the first time, in the only non-stop service offered between the coastal destinations. And earlier this month, this service launched, with the inaugural flight AC35 from Vancouver touching down in Brisbane on June 2nd.

Since then, it and its return AC36 service have been operating on selected dates during the week, with full non-stop daily service set to commence next Friday, June 17th. All services are operating on their brand new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 20 International Business Class lie-flat seat suites, 21 Premium Economy and 210 Economy Class seats with upgraded in-flight entertainment at every seat throughout the aircraft.

Vancouver serves not only as a great destination for Australian travellers (look out for our upcoming feature on the great city), but also as a hub to other destinations across Canada and the United States.

Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority, said of the new service, “We’re connecting B.C. proudly to the world, one new destination at a time. No airport in Canada has ever had service to Brisbane; but this service has come about because of our strength as both a destination and a connecting hub, and because of our industry-beating airline rates and charges program. In this process we’ve built strong relationships with Canadian and Australian tourism partners and with Brisbane Airport, who we’ll continue to work with to make this new route successful.”

Flights arriving in Vancouver are timed to optimise connectivity to and from Air Canada’s extensive North American network.

Flight – From – To – Depart – Arrive
AC35 – Vancouver (YVR) – Brisbane (BNE) – 23:45 – 07:15 (+2 days)
AC36 – Brisbane (BNE) – Vancouver (YVR) – 10:40 – 07:15

Brisbane is just one part of the airline’s international expansion this year, with a number of new routes set to launch, including Toronto-Budapest, Toronto-Warsaw, Toronto-Glasgow, Toronto-Seoul, Montreal-Casablanca, Montreal-Lyon, Vancouver-Dublin and Vancouver-Delhi.
