Qatar Airways announces 14 new destinations including world’s longest flight

At the world’s largest international travel fair, CEO of Qatar Airways, Mr Akbar al Baker announced that the airline will be expanding its network to include 14 new destinations across four continents, with the latest announcement including expansions in Europe and a new route between Doha and Auckland, which takes the spot as one of the world’s longest flights.

The five new destinations in Europe are: Pisa (Italy), Sarajevo (Bosnia), Helsinki (Finland), Skopje (Macedonia), and Nice (France). Services to new destinations in Africa include: Marrakech (Morocco), Windhoek (Namibia), Douala (Cameroon), Libreville (Gabon), Lusaka (Zambia), and Seychelles. In Southeast Asia/South West Pacific, there will be new destinations such as Krabi (Thailand), and Chiang Mai (Thailand).

The expansion will also see the world’s longest flight, from Doha and Auckland (New Zealand) which will begin running daily from December 3.

These announcements follow the news of a new flight between Sydney and Doha, which was released last week.
