Meal Service:
Full bar service with a peanut snack service was served just after takeoff. Lunch was served straight after. One Asian option and one western option. I chose the Asian option of grilled fish with a spicy shrimp sauce. Served with steamed vegetables and white rice. Entree was a pesto pasta salad and dessert was a banana and coconut pudding/cake. Full bar service is available with your meal. Coffee and tea available straight after. Service was fast and efficient.

In-Flight Entertainment:
Video-on-demand with video screens on the back of each seat. Latest Hollywood blockbusters plus a selection of Asian and Indian cinema and TV shows available. Not as much variety in the programming compared to its competitors but there is enough variety for the 8 hour journey to Kuala Lumpur. Movies with explicit content has been censored. You will notice swearing in movies has been replaced by a voice-over.

Comfort:
Extra legroom on the exit row is available for a fee. Seat width is an above industry average of 17.5 inches but the seat pitch is 32 inches (compared to 34 inches for average). All seats have USB slots to charge your mobile phone.

Customer Service:
Friendly and efficient. After all Malaysia Airlines have gone through over the past 12 months the cabin crew kept a smile on their face with prompt attention. All meals were cleared promptly and extra top ups for drinks were offered.

Extra:
Malaysia Airlines offer baggage up to 30kgs which is a blessing for a travelling photographer/journalist on assignment with lots of heavy gear. Bags were tagged correctly and check-in staff was efficient.
