Last year, Sydney indie/folk band, Little May had an incredible time at The Great Escape festival in Brighton, England. Seeing talent from the likes of Jesse Davidson, BAD//DREEMS and Sakswatch, the talent that this festival had was enormous – and it looks no different for 2016. Before we kick this year off, however, Liz Drummond of the band takes us through her experience at the festival and in Brighton in this exclusive tour diary.
A denim clad soundcheck at the NME Showcase at The Haunt in Brighton.
Annie, Hannah, Mark, Cat, our manager Monique and I. Getting ready to play Island Life at The North Laine Pub in Brighton. This place has seriously delicious burgers.
Having a yarn backstage at The Haunt. Cat explaining how she wished she would run into Nick Cave in Brighton. The next day Annie actually saw Nick Cave near Tesco.
An asbestos warning at our hostel. Heavy! Stay calm, deep breaths.
The incredible Jesse Davidson and his amazing band, absolutely killing it at their show at The Black Lion. Jesse supported us on one of our shows 3 years ago. We had only sold about 4 tickets, and we felt pretty bad. He was only 16 at the time and had to leave the venue straight after his set. It was great to see him in Brighton, and not get kicked out of the venue.
Bad//Dreems killing it as always, after a huge stint of shows in the UK. They are such legends.
Saskwatch playing at the Aussie BBQ at Hoxton Bar and Grill in London. They are one of the best live bands I have seen in a long time. We were so happy that we got to hang out and catch their set, along with so many amazing Australian bands (Remi, Hein Cooper, Tkay Maidza, to name a few).
